Dr. Zhixiong (James) Guo

Dr. Zhixiong (James) Guo

Iowa State University, USA
Plenary Speaker

Dr. Zhixiong Guo is a full Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Rutgers University-New Brunswick, USA. He receiveda Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of NYU in 2001; and then joined the faculty at Rutgers. His research interests include heat transfer and applied optics, with notable expertise in radiation-matter interactions, laser applications in biomedicine and material processing, molecular and nanoscale optical sensing, and thermal radiation. Currently he is focusing on integrating photonics and heat transfer with bio-nanotechnology, and conducting emerging technological applications such as MEMS/NEMS sensors, micro/nanoscale material processing, ultrafine measurement, and biological sensing at the molecular level. His research is funded by the National Science Foundation, NASA/NJSGC, USDA, MTF, NIH, New Jersey Nanotechnology Consortium, Charles and Johanna Busch Memorial Funds Awards, and other sources. He also received a teaching award from Rutgers Vice President Office for Undergraduate Education in 2002. He is the author or co-author of over 80 articles in archival journals and the citations of his publications are over 1100 times as of September 2013 according to SCI, with an h-index 21. Dr. Guo is an elected Fellow of ASME. He currently serves as K-18 technical committee Chair in HTD ASME (2009-2015).He is an Associate Editor of ASME Journal of Heat Transfer and the international journal Heat Transfer Research, and an Editor for Journal of Optical Engineering and Applications.

Dr. Xinwei Wang

Dr. Xinwei Wang

New Jersey Institute of Technology, USA
Plenary Speaker

Dr. Xinwei Wang is the Anson Marston Distinguished Professor and Wilkinson Professor in Interdisciplinary Engineering at Iowa State University. He obtained his Ph.D. from the School of Mechanical Engineering, Purdue University in 2001. Over more than 24 years, he has led his laboratory to conduct extensive research on thermophysical properties of micro/nanoscale materials and interfaces, energy transport physics and control, and laser-assisted material interaction and manufacturing. He is the Fellow of ASME and OPTICA, and Associate Fellow of AIAA. He is the associate/senior editor of five international journals, and on the editorial board of six journals.
